Liberation Day

Now I am quite late again, since Liberation Day is already a week ago, but here it goes...
On the 14th of June British Forces "liberated" the Falklands from Argentine occupation, since then Liberation day is a big event down here. Being the 25th anniversary meant it was an even bigger event this year, two extra days of holiday and many VIP guests, including many veterans as well as the Earl (?) HRH Prince Edward.
Liberation day started with a service in the Cathedral followed by a military parade and speeches in the freezing cold, and then, finally (at around 11:30 AM) free drink and food in a big hall with a special imported band. For many people this is the last thing they remember before the huge hangover on Monday morning. And I got a picture of me and the Governor in his posh official outfit and funny hat with plumes on, but I am not showing that ;-)
For the rest of us, we were partying in various bars, heading for the big "Expo" on Saturday and Liberation Ball on Saturday night, the best night I had here so far, with the same brilliant band and dancing till the morning (and until I couldn't stand on my feet any more--- and not because I drank too much, me, never!!!). So, It was brilliant!
And thats now already a week ago...
